DECLARATION OF VALUES AND GOOD PRACTICES

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte is committed to high ethical standards and good practices in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge in order to ensure a publication with scientific rigor and quality. That is why it has adopted as a reference the Code of Conduct that the COPE, Committee on Publication Ethics, has set forth for publishers of scientific journals:

Obligations and general responsibilities of the editorial team

In their capacity as managers of the journal, the editorial committee and team of Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte commit to:

  • Join their efforts to meet the needs of readers and authors.
  • Strive for the continuous improvement of the journal.
  • Ensure the quality of the material that is published.
  • Ensure freedom of expression.
  • Maintain the academic integrity of its content.
  • Prevent commercial interests from encroaching in intellectual criteria.
  • Post corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when necessary.

 

Relationship with the readers

Readers will be informed about the funders of a research project and their role in that project.

 

Relationship with the authors

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte is committed to ensuring the quality of the material it publishes, and to communicate the objectives and norms of the journal. The editors' decision to accept or reject an article for publication are based solely on the relevance of the work, its originality and its pertinence in relation to the editorial line of the journal. The journal includes a description of the peer evaluation process followed for each piece that is received. It also has an Author guide that contains further information. This guide is updated regularly and contains a link to this ethical statement. The authors’ right to appeal editorial decisions is acknowledged. The editors will not modify their decision, having approved an article, unless irregularities or extraordinary situations are detected. Any change in the composition of the editorial team will not affect the decisions already made, except in exceptional cases with extenuating circumstances.

 

Relationship with evaluators

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte has made available to evaluators a guide that contains what the journal expects of them. The identity of the evaluators is protected at all times during the process, guaranteeing their anonymity.

 

Complaints

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte commits to respond quickly to any complaint received and to ensure that all claimants can see the issues they raised handled appropriately. In any case, if the interested party fails to see their complaint satisfied, they have the right to present their claims to other instances.

 

Promotion of academic integrity

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte guarantees that the material it publishes conforms to internationally accepted ethical standards.

 

Personal data protection

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte guarantees the confidentiality of personal information (for example, of the professors and/or students used as collaborators or subjects in the submitted research studies).

 

Monitoring of bad practices

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte takes seriously its obligation to act accordingly in case of suspicion of bad practices or inappropriate behavior. This obligation extends to both published and unpublished articles. The editors will not only reject manuscripts that raise issues of possible misconduct, but they are considered to be ethically obligated to report alleged cases of misconduct. The journal will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the articles submitted for evaluation are rigorous and compliant of our ethical standards.

Integrity and academic rigor

Whenever there is evidence that any published work contains gross inaccuracies, or misleading or distorted statements, it must be corrected immediately. If any article with fraudulent content is detected, it will be removed as soon as this is known, immediately sharing this information with both readers and indexing systems. The following are considered inadmissible practices, and as such they will be strictly enforced: the simultaneous submission of the same article to several journals; duplicate publication of an article, or publication of an article with immaterial changes or as paraphrase of a previous piece; the artificial fragmentation of a piece into several articles.

 

Relationship with journal owners and publishers

The relationship between editors, publishers and owners will follow the principle of editorial independence. The journal will always guarantee that the articles are published based on their quality and suitability for the readers, and not looking to derive an economic or political benefit. In this sense, the fact that the journal is not governed by economic interests, and defends the ideal of free access to universal and open-source knowledge, facilitates such independence.

Conflict of interests

Calle14: revista de investigación en el campo del arte will establish the necessary mechanisms to avoid or resolve possible conflicts of interest between authors, evaluators and / or the editorial team itself.

 

Complaints  

Any author, reader, evaluator or editor can submit their complaints to the competent bodies.
