The author theorizes the meaning of solidarity as a kind
of pedagogical practice. Taking a photo from his childhood
as a point of departure, he argues that the call to
solidarity works as a kind of subjective hook. Yet, the
practice of solidarity should seek to unhook the subjects,
creating spaces and opportunities to be otherwise. To
that end, it is necessary to build a pedagogy of creative
solidarity based on the logic of cultural production that
seeks to create opportunities for transformation both
of the people and the relationships and conditions that
bring them together. Such a practice might consider five
registers through cultural work is expressed: the symbolic,
the material, the spatio-temporal, the relational, and
the affective. The circus, as a space of cultural production,
might generate opportunities for this pedagogy of
creative solidarity.
