THE UNIVERSITY SPORTS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE WELFARE OF SERVICES IN THE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The Institutions of Higher Education (HEI) in Colombia are legally mandated to promote the promotion of the practice of sport and the promotion of it as a contribution to the integral formation of the person. For this, one of the manifestations of sport was established in Law 181 of 1995 called University Sports. Thus, University Welfare was regulated in the IES and one of the functions to which it is dedicated is the provision of sports services for compliance with the law, but not oriented towards the improvement of athletes with a view to high performance as happens in other countries.
