Body stability problems can limit mobility, the main risk factor for falling in the elderly, this situation increases in people with Peripheral Diabetic Neuropathy (PDN) because this population shows greater oscillation in upright position compared to healthy controls as suggested by various investigations. The most analyzed quantitative parameter to evaluate stability is the Center of Pressure (CoP) and for type 2 diabetics with NDP focuses on the anterior-posterior (AP) direction, for this reason, the CoP-AP was registered and analyzed in a static position in 30 people living in Bogotá city of, who presented Diabetes type II and PDN matched by gender, age, weight and height with 30 healthy controls for further analysis in the time domain and frequency. The measures of excursion, average speed, range, RMS value, average amplitude, maximum amplitude, minimum amplitude and power spectral density (PSD) were evaluated, with statistically significant differences with a significance level of 0.05 for all measurements. With the above, it can be suggested that type 2 diabetics with NDP present greater body oscillation which can generate balance problems.
