A bit less of rhetoric and more of science in the diagnosis and solutions to the Ambiental problems
Keywords:

The article aims to describe how current scientific advances already offer environmental solutions superior to the sum of apocalyptic rhetoric associated with an “inevitable” environmental collapse. Precision fermentation (PF), short palindromic repeat regularly interspaced with predesigned features (CRISPR-Cas9), accelerated identification of protein DNA using software and artificial intelligence (ALPHAFOLD) and protein production from air and solar energy (SOLEIN®) constitute just four of these solutions and are described in the development of the article. In the end, the article concludes using the SWOT tool, among others: that a weakness of these impacts is, paradoxically, their relative novelty; that a great opportunity consists of offering tools to radically and sustainably transform the concepts of urbanism and ruralism on the planet; that the greatest strength would consist of enabling the reduction of the use of land in the food production in parallel with opening up reforestation and depressing deforestation; and perhaps the greatest threat is proving to depress the violent defense of landowner interests that seriously are delaying the implementation of these impacts.
