Proceso de Arbitraje

Peer review process

The articles summoned for the Scientific Journal are subjected to evaluation by academic peers, the vast majority external, national and international, experts in the topics and under the double-blind modality.

Phases of the peer review process

Once an article has been received, the Editorial Committee makes a first review, after which the work may be rejected (without additional evaluation if it does not comply with the Journal's policies) or it can be accepted for evaluation by peer reviewers. Therefore, the authors are not guaranteed the immediate publication of said article. The decision to reject a job is final and unappealable. Papers may be rejected in this first evaluation because they do not meet the requirements of writing, presentation, structure or are not original or relevant to the journal.
The works that are accepted in the first stage start the evaluation by experts through the double-blind process, that is, the identities of the peers will not be known by the author and, in turn, the peer evaluators will not know the (s) identity (s) of the author (s). The reviewers will be national or / and international experts on the subject of the article.
The article evaluation process can generate any of the following responses: i) Accepted for publication without modifications: the article will be published as it has been received and only spelling and style corrections will be made. ii) Accepted for publication with corrections: the work will be published once the authors make the corrections suggested by the reviewers. These will be reviewed by the Editorial Committee, which will decide if they are accepted or not. iii) Rejected: the article is not recommended for publication
The peer reviewers will have a maximum time of one month to send the opinion of the manuscript. If the evaluations are positive, the Editorial Committee decides to publish the article, making the adjustments proposed by the peers. On the contrary, if they are negative, it is rejected. In case of a positive and a negative opinion, it is sent to a third peer and based on their evaluation a decision will be made.
If the work is accepted, but with the recommendation to make modifications, it will be returned to the author (s) together with the recommendations of the referees to prepare a new corrected version, within a maximum period of 15 calendar days.
Unpublished works will be archived as rejected articles.

Guide for evaluators

The articles submitted to be published in the Scientific Journal will be evaluated by two expert and anonymous pairs. Each evaluator should carefully read the manuscript and issue a justified and argued report regarding the convenience or not of its publication, including suggestions and guidelines for its improvement when appropriate.

The dimensions to take into account are the following:

Clarity, relevance and novelty of the subject and the problem analyzed.
Fundamentals (theoretical framework and background).
Methodology and data analysis.
Structuring of the discourse (argumentation, coherence, common thread).
Compliance with journal regulations (title, abstract, keywords in Spanish, English and Portuguese) http://revistas.udistrital.edu.co/ojs/index.php/revcie/about/submissions#authorGuidelines
Format, presentation and extension.
Others consider the pair.
