Abstract (es)
Abstract (en)
In 2017, the Colombian Ministry of Education issued 'Resolution 18583', which establishes the quality criteria for teacher training programs or bachelor's degrees. Through exploratory and descriptive qualitative research, we inquired about how bachelor's degrees addressed the policy and, in particular, how the intercultural dimension was appropriated in 27 programs in different cities around the country. Data sources included educational projects, syllabi, and interviews with program directors and professors. The results indicate that the strategies for the adoption of the policy included the formation of committees to discuss the implications of the ruling, changes at the curricular level that implied the mainstreaming of the intercultural perspective, and the inclusion of new courses in the curriculum. Interculturality was adopted as a foundational principle, in theoretical and practical terms, mostly based on constructivist visions. Meanwhile, the understanding of the policy, in general terms, was limited due to the absence of an intertextual approach on the part of the agents involved in its interpretation. In conclusion, it is argued that a greater dialogue among the different members of the academic community could generate more effective processes of understanding and appropriation of the policy.
