Han pasado 50 años desde la muerte del cura guerrillero,
Camilo Torres Restrepo. Sobreviene el hecho en
una emboscada casi anodina, Patio Cemento, un lugar de
la cordillera santandereana.
Había en ese combate algo supremamente trivial y, a la
vez, trágicamente grandioso. Era el final de una vida en la
que se habían adivinado las marcas que trazaban un destino;
y un destino que empujaba al sacrificio: como si el aura
de un sino sacrificial la hubiera envuelto desde siempre.
El mismo era un oficiante de sacrificios. Se había decidido
por el sacerdocio, después de ensayar con las leyes. Y ya
se sabe: el poder eminente del sacerdote es el de ejercer y
controlar el sacrificio religioso; ese sacrificio que reproduce
la muerte de Jesucristo, quien al encuentro de la traición
que lo acecha tiene que jugar el papel del inocente que se
ofrece como víctima.
