Las conversaciones de paz en La Habana - Cuba se encuentran en desarrollo. Dentro de las actividades planeadas en el seno de las mismas, en 2014 se decidió crear una Comisión Histórica del Conflicto y sus Víctimas (CHCV), la cual contó con la participación de 12 expertos y dos relatores, y cuya misión consistió en producir un Informe en el que se diera cuenta de los orígenes y las múltiples causas del conflicto, los principales factores y condiciones que han facilitado o contribuido a su persistencia, así como los efectos e impactos más notorios del mismo sobre la población.
