Este artículo es el resultado de una investigación cuyo objetivo es interpretar y visibilizar la experiencia pedagógica de la metáfora en un entorno de educación no formal, siguiendo el trabajo de una fundación colombiana sin ánimo de lucro, que usa la metáfora como herramienta pedagógica. Se realizó un estudio de caso, a través del cual se generaron datos mediante observaciones, entrevistas y charlas informales. Con apoyo teórico de la metáfora y la teoría de la narración, se analizó su uso y función desde las diversas actividades de la fundación, así como su impacto en la vida de las personas. Los resultados indican que la metáfora cumple una función estratégica relacionada con los procesos educativos de resocialización, el trabajo con cuentos para la reflexión y las actividades de siembra y cultivo. En conclusión, se identifican tres aspectos pedagógicos fundamentales: concientización, subjetivación y transformación.

This article presents a study with the aim of interpreting and visualizing the pedagogical experiences through the use of metaphors in a non-formal educational setting. The study employed case study methodology that generated data through observations, interviews, and informal discussions, following the activities of a non-profit Colombian organization that uses metaphors as a pedagogical tool. The article examines with support in metaphor theory and narrative theory the use and function of metaphors in the organization’s activities and the impact they have on peoples’ lives. The findings demonstrate that metaphors fill a strategical function within the various activities of the organization, including educational resocialization processes, the use of stories for reflection, and in cultivation activities. In conclusion, the article identifies three fundamental pedagogical aspects of the metaphors’ function in the non-formal educational environment: consciousness-raising, subjectification, and transformation.
