Abstract (es)
Abstract (en)
The purpose of this work is to investigate, based on a certain methodology of literary analysis, the interpretation of the story “La Sunamita” by Inés Arredondo, in such a way that the construction of the vulnerable subject in a patriarchal society is perceived. Based on some theoretical concepts by Judith Butler, it will be analyzed how there are “a priori” conditions that limit women in their decisions, their values and their relationships. The study will be made up of three interrelated axes: on the one hand, the methodological and didactic perspective in which the different elements of the story will be addressed; on the other, the formation of “myself” from Butlerian theories; and, finally, through a critical essay, the application of the study of gender in the interpretation of the aforementioned literary work. The result will be the paradox of the main character (Luisa), in which there is evidence of a split between myself and the “other” that becomes a contradiction and condemnation.
