El estudio de las descargas eléctricas ha tenido gran interés en la ciencia durante siglos, pero aunque se conozcan innumerables investigaciones al respecto, y se hayan encontrado formas en las cuales el ser humano se puede proteger, no existe una cultura respecto al tema en la sociedad, lo cual ocasiona que por imprudencia o falta de conocimiento algunas personas mueran por impactos de rayo; por lo anterior, se realizó una propuesta didáctica en la cual se presentaron las características principales de las descargas eléctricas y su clasificación, con el fin de que los estudiantes comprendan la diferencia entre rayo y relámpago. Se enfatiza en la explicación física del rayo, y se estudian diferentes formas de protección.

Study of electrical discharges have been big interest for centuries, but, despite having a lot of investigations about them, and although we have many safety information of them, it does not exits an appropriate culture regarding lightings and therefore many people have died because of their imprudence, because of that, it was carried out a didactical proposal in which classification and main characteristics of electrical discharges were presented to the students to understand differences between lightning and flash of lightning.
